Many of us understand that dental insurance is not really insurance at all. It will not pay for a major loss in the mouth but pays a limited, annual benefit. If auto insurance was structured as dental insurance we would see windshield wipers covered but not loss of the car. As such, dental insurance is not held to the same standards as medical insurance.
